About The Opportunity
The Manager works with the Zone Operations Director and the DI Medical Department Head for the Zone, to facilitate the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Department and to ensure the delivery of a high quality, safe and efficient Diagnostic Imaging services. The Manager works in collaboration with other managers and staff to develop and implement policies and procedures which are congruent with the Program and overall corporate plan of NSHA.
The Manager is accountable for the efficient and effective operation of assigned areas of responsibility including Central Zone Ultrasound Service, BLCOC and Quality. It is the responsibility of the Manager to oversee diagnostic ultrasound as a modality throughout all sites within the Central Zone, including those that are not direct reports (Cobequid and Hants), daily operations of the BLCOC (which include general imaging, US service and bone mineral density) and coordination of the Quality program in CZ. The Manager works in a co-leadership relationship with the designated Service Chief / Chief Radiologist for assigned areas / facilities.

About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medical Imaging, supplemented by additional formal management and/or leadership training
  • Advanced written and oral communications skills/positive energetic public persona
  • Leadership, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client-centred diagnostic imaging services
  • Experience in Ultrasound is preferred
  • Certified Health Executive designation an asset
  • Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Knowledge in field to help inform strategy development and organizational planning.
  • Possesses functional knowledge of Radiology Information Systems
  • Ability to work within Microsoft Office suite and SAP environments
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
  • Minimum (3) three years’ recent and relevant supervisory/managerial experience, demonstrating progressive development of financial, strategic and people management skills
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification or Sonography Canada
  • Strategic planning and systems thinking
  • Cultural competence
  • Experience in financial planning and management
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies. (e.g., LEAN)
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and/or alternative education shall be considered
  • Experienced in leading change
  • Well developed organizational, networking, negotiation and change management skills
  • Masters Level Degree in health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject an asset
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure or eligible
  • Evidence-based collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills
  • Understanding of the principles of project management with demonstrated ability to lead work teams
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Incentives
$43.91 – $58.34 hourly
