Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in mental health, preferred

First Aid & CPR, ASIST, and CPI certifications

Identify, promote resolution, and management of all emergency situations concerning participants, staff, and property

Ensure effective communication with Director, Managers, staff team, and external treatment teams concerning each participant’s progress

Experience working in the addiction and mental health field

Health and safety knowledge; knowledge of safe food handling procedures

Applied Suicide Interventions Skills and Training (ASIST)

Health teaching about mental illness and symptom management

Assess and build on client’s strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences and resources

Medication monitoring and education; support with medication routines; completion of Medication Reconciliation procedure

Ensure effective communication with manager, staff team, and external treatment teams concerning clients’ progress and care

Experience working in a residence setting

Knowledge of computerized documentation methods

Provide health teaching about mental illness, addiction, and symptom management

Identify, promote resolution, and management of all emergency situations concerning clients, staff, and property

What you'll be making - $22.33 - $25.71 per hour, rate based on proof of comparable, previous experience

One year of work experience in the mental health and addiction field

You are a team player with excellent communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills

A minimum of 5-7 years of previous experience with assessment and treatment in adult mental health setting

Clinical experience in working with adults who experience mental health diagnoses and concurrent disorders

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Previous experience with program planning, development, and evaluation of group and/or individual therapy

Proven effective collaborative skills as a member of a interprofessional team

Keep up to date with knowledge of community resources and mental health services

Comprehensive knowledge of mental health concerns, addictions, cross-cultural approaches to social well-being in newcomer and refugee populations

Preparing and presenting information and education sessions

A university degree in Social Work.

Must be registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers.

Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
