Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist Jobs

Demonstrates effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills.

Compliance to various standards, e.g. Public Health Reporting Requirements, WHMIS, OHS

Five (5) years related experience preferred.

Recent experience reading/interpreting/reporting human clinical bacterial cultures required

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

Must be licensed with NSCMLT or eligible

Ability to work shiftwork (weekends and holidays as required)

Basic computer skills, Meditech experience is preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent (as determined by employer)

Basic understanding of medical terminology

Manual dexterity to handle sharp instruments and small objects

Must be able to perform procedures with a high degree of accuracy

Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program with attained certification by the CSMLS

Fluent language skill (written and oral) in both French may be required

Current licensing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM) required.

Current registration with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) preferred.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and oral

Mental and physical health necessary to meet the demands of the job required

Minimum three years' recent related work experience preferred

Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program with attained certification by the CSMLS

Apply technical knowledge to interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and assessing of methods

Advanced academic achievement (e.g. A.R.T. or B.Sc.) preferred

Bachelor of Science degree, an Advanced Registered certificate or completion of a supervisory/management program.

Five (5) years’ recent related experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Comprehensive knowledge and recent related experience in related discipline.

Demonstrated ability to manage own learning to meet future challenges within the organization.

Skill in the operation of related equipment and in techniques appropriate to the laboratory.
