Locations - Toronto, ON, Canada

Salary rate - $55-65,000 CAD

Lead training of PLC end-users at customer locations and represent Valiant TMS utilizing results-driven problem-solving skills

Debug, tryout and verify I/O signals and interference zones in the system and document control logic changes with our engineering team

A completed college or university program in Electrical Engineering/Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotic Studies or another similar field of study

Ability and willingness to travel internationally to customer locations

Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other engineers and project managers on-site

Experience in the design, development, testing, and implementation of PLC programs and control systems

Knowledge of PLC hardware and software, including Allen-Bradley, GE and Siemens platforms

Experience with HMI programming and configuration

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Additional qualifications in Automation and Control Systems or PLC programming are an asset

Previous Food Manufacturing Experience – An Asset

Mechanical or Electrical Knowledge – An Asset

Proficient knowledge using Allen Bradley automation software within the RS Logix family of controllers and Factory Talk View

Proficient knowledge with Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems

Proficient knowledge working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), Installing, Troubleshooting and Maintaining

Certification from a nationally accredited PLC institution (Required)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Ability to work remotely and commute to customers' sites as needed (across GTA)

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related majors.

Hands-On experience with Java programming language

Experience with Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Mechanical devices in industrial machines.

Prepare functional descriptions of the process using a Control Narrative and related documents.

•Work within all Dana EHS and Quality requirements

•Participate in developing reliable and efficient processes for new product or new application introductions as required

•Install and set-up various vision system components such as bar code scanners and inspection cameras

•Maintain machine automation back-up files

•Design and construct new electric circuits and electronic device integration

•Maintain and ensure accuracy of electrical drawings and code

Software understanding and programming experience.

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.

E3 Zuken and/or AutoCAD experience is an asset.

Power study tools experience (ETAP, Easy Power, Cyme, etc) is an asset.

Participate in factory acceptance tests at vendors facilities, commissioning (Start-up) and Service High Power Rectifier Systems.

Coordination with the customer, the internal engineering team, suppliers of equipment & ser-vices, and other stakeholders involved in the project.

Test malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with management options available to correct problem

Performs all job functions in alignment with IATF 16949 quality management standards, BOS Procedures and ISO 14001

Performs other duties as assigned or any reasonable request by management.

Industrial Trade certification as Industrial Electrician and/or PLC certification

Minimum 5 years hands on experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Knowledge and understanding of Hydraulic and pneumatic fundamentals and principals

5+ years of relevant experience in the field (robotics, PLC, etc)

Strong ground up PLC programming experience

Previous experience at Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation

Strong written and oral communication with a self starter attitude

Flexible - overtime and weekend work occasionally required

Post secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering

Software understanding and programming experience.

Must have excellent understanding and practical knowledge of various motor control applications including Starter/Overload combinations, Soft Starters, Servo Drives, and VFD’s.

On-Site/remote support Troubleshooting and commissioning of Hardware including;

College diploma as a minimum or equivalent industry experience.

2 years minimum experience working with automated industrial equipment and production lines. Working Experience in automation or electrical design is required.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team (both internal and remote), including mechanical, electrical, control, fluid power, and CAD support.

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration (minimum requirement).

Assist in front-end planning and prepare reports for management.

Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in costing and estimation of brownfield projects at Oil & Gas industry facilities.

Recommended to have experience in processing invoices and reporting utilizing various SAP transactions and applications.

Prepare, review, and monitor cost commitments and expenditure forecasts for Oil industry projects.

Initiate funding for preliminary engineering and monitor Project Proposal and Expenditure Request Estimate development activities.

5 years of relevant experience in traction electric motor control in the Automotive industry.

Experience with ASPICE and ISO-26262

Experience in embedded C for motor control applications

Certification as an Industrial Electrician (442A) or as a Construction Electrician (309A) and strong background in PLC maintenance.

Previous crane, conveyor, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance experience is a definite asset.

Possesses skill in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, especially electrical drawing.

Repair critical electrical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades

Repair or replace control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starts, thermocouples etc. as needed

Post-Secondary Education in an Electrical background
