Nice to Have Skills and Experience

* 5+ years of experience in translation from English to French

* Writing and research skills and a demonstrated ability to apply them to translation and content validation

* 2+ years in a financial services role would be a strong asset

* Exceptionally fluent in both English and French

* Bachelor's degree in Translation (English to French)

Professional translation and interpretation experience strongly preferred

Solid computer / Internet skills

Solid grammar/orthography and punctuation of the English language. You will be required to take a test

Communicate with clients to clarify issues and gather relevant information

Excellent (written and verbal) communication skills and cultural knowledge of source and target languages (English and French for Canada).

Experience translating and proofreading documents from the Retail industry.

Undergraduate degree in Translation (English to French) and relevant work experience (1-3 years).

Pristine knowledge of French (Québécois). Strong knowledge of English.

Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and online translation and terminological resources.

Excellent knowledge of Acrobat Adobe.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

HTML coding knowledge would be considered an asset.

An excellent knowledge of the methods, tools and procedures used in the profession as well as good computer skills.

Improve our internal processes as needed Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience, ideally some of which was acquired in a supervised environment.

Have experience with a translation memory software.

Experience with LogiTerm will be considered an asset.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both official languages.

University degree in translation or other relevant experience.

At least 3 years' experience in English-to-French translation.

In-depth knowledge of the methods, tools and processes used in this profession.

Translate dental, human resources and administrative/corporate documents from English into French, in accordance with the company's quality standards.

Identify and resolve any conflicts related to the meaning of words, sentences or concepts when translating from one language to another.

Proofread, revise and edit final translated versions, ensuring that terminology and language levels are consistent throughout the document.

This Position Requires The Following Skills And Experience

At least five years of experience as a translator

Good knowledge of translation tools and the MS Office suite

Knowledge of the banking industry/products and services

Use translation tools appropriately to ensure consistency in the translated documents and increase efficiency.

Performs the necessary research to ensure high quality translation and contributes to the department's terminology base on an ongoing basis.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and cultural knowledge of target and source languages (English and French for Canada).
