Provide residents with high quality personal care assistance with grooming, hygiene, toileting, bathing, mobility, feeding assistance, and restorative nursing care programs.

Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors and other staff members

Good organizational skills with ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements of the Residents.

Delegate clinical responsibilities to qualified staff in accordance with Chartwell policy and CNO standards of practice;

A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration;

Must possess good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to

Assess and reassess the resident health status and communicate resident care needs and changes in resident status to key resident contacts;

Provides input into the discharge planning, consideration for admission and or transfer of residents into or out of the unit;

1 to 2 years of related experience;

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Ensure daily hours reflect the budgeted hours and report discrepancies to the Director of Care and Business Coordinator;

Replacement of staff on a daily "Call in" basis and update staffing changes on the nursing time sheet;

Obtain authorization from the Director of Care for any overtime work;

Maintain attendance/absenteeism reports and communicate any recurrent absenteeism to the Director of Care;

Previous management experience, preferably two (2) years required

Comprehensive knowledge of theory, practice and research in relation to clinical area

Demonstrates ability to foster an interdisciplinary collaborative environment that supports quality client/patient care/quality improvement and an empowered practice model

Graduate of an accredited Food Supervisor’s/Food and Nutrition Management Program

Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) or in the relevant provincial regulatory body for Dietitians

Working knowledge of all applicable Senior Living/Long Term Care/Retirement Provincial legislation, regulations, and acts

Working knowledge of health and safety, employment, and human rights legislation

Adopt Aramark processes and systems, understand performance metrics, data, order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins

Receive, store, and manage the inventory of resident food and food service supplies.

Ensure compliance with safe food handling practices and public health requirements.

Secondary School education or equivalent

Certification or proof of participation in a Food Service Worker Program approved by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

Current Food Handlers Safety Awareness certification.

Prepare meals and distribute snack plates to residents according to their individual diet menus/preferences and ensure resident satisfaction with meal service.
