Electrical Intermediate Designer Jobs in Ontario

Minimum 2 years electrical engineering and design experience using REVIT MEP 3D on building projects.

Design knowledge of LV distribution, fire alarm systems, lighting and control and passive telecommunications.

Experience working in different delivery models – i.e. CM, Design Build, P3 - is desirable.

Knowledge of National Building Code of Canada and the Ontario Building Code.

Basic knowledge of LEED v4.0, ASHRAE and CSA/ULC standards.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong desire and ability to collaborate and problem solve in an integrated team environment.

Develop, analyze, and implement innovative, cost effective project custom design solutions for UV disinfection equipment.

Produce / review project custom design drawings / documentation.

Complete field reviews for construction and manage construction documentation;

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Minimum 5 - 10 years of relevant experience

Experience with SPEL, AutoCAD and Microstation design software packages, AVEVA 2D/3D is a plus

Sound technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers

A working knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications

5+ years of experience and working knowledge of LV & MV Single Line Diagrams, wiring diagrams, and Electrical Load lists

Ability and desire to learn new software, applications, knowledge, and skills

5+ years of experience with motor control design philosophy and development of motor control schematics

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

Revit design experience an asset

Knowledge in Instrumentation an asset

Manage and coordinate projects with multi-discipline engineering teams;

A university degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience;

5+ years of relevant experience in Transmission or Distribution substation design;

Work experience with fire alarms, lighting design, Arc flash, grounding and ampacity studies;

Demonstrated experience working on HV & LV substation electrical arrangement designs is a must;

Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations (CSA, ESA. etc.);

Graduate of accredited electrical engineering technology program, or appropriate level of experience.

High level of experience in construction methods and installation details related to electrical equipment, especially:

- Design / CAD electrical drawings using PDS.

- Develop 3D models for substation, cable duct bank, cable tray, lighting and equipment layouts.

- Prepare general plant layouts, plant grounding and area classification drawings.

- Prepare design details in PDS model for cabling & tray, plant & electrical equipment layouts, lighting.

Designs components of the overall building including integrating architectural design and adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements

Evaluates engineering design requirements and creates drawings to support constructions projects

Is proficient in Engineering software skills, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, as well as electrical engineering systems design software

Engineering knowledge related to building electrical systems and multiple building types

Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
