Overview Child Protection Workers are responsible for providing support and protection to children and families who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. They work with families to ensure that children are safe and that their needs are being met. They also investigate allegations of abuse or neglect and provide services to families in need. Detailed Job Description Child Protection Workers are responsible for assessing the safety and well-being of children and families in their care. They investigate allegations of abuse or neglect, provide services to families in need, and work with families to ensure that children are safe and their needs are being met. They also provide counseling and support to families and children, and work with other professionals to coordinate services. Child Protection Workers must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds. They must be able to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team. Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred
• Licensure or certification in social work or psychology preferred
• Experience working with children and families in a social services setting
• Knowledge of child welfare laws and regulations
• Knowledge of community resources
