Automation Junior Mechanical Designer Jobs

We offer you to work full time ( 38hrs) spread over 4, 4.5 or 5 days a week;

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the design, management and launch of special purpose machinery

Mechanical Design Manager - Automation

Automation and special purpose machine design and preparation of mechanical drawings

Apply creativity in converting verbal concepts or rough sketches into 3D CAD designs

Responsible for communicating time estimates and resource requirements on design tasks to the Mechanical Design - Team Lead and Project Manager.

Or 10+ of Machine Building, Integration & Troubleshooting in Automated Assembly systems, with CAD experience.Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.

Automation knowledge and experience is an asset.

Attention to detail and being well organized in engineering document management system is essential.

Review electrical requirements with respect to input and output devices with electrical designers.

Communicate all requested design changes to the Project Manager.

Excellent time management and prioritization skills

Provide guidance to the team based on management direction.

Create/lead improvement teams and track progress using a visual management.

Bachelor/Associate degree or a combination of education, experience and licensing

Ability to access and develop individual and team skills/capabilities

Hands on mechanical assembly experience

A working knowledge of common machine shop techniques.

Must have a thorough knowledge of drafting principles.

5+ years of work experience

A strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, as well as specific skills related to robotics and automation.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.

Expertise in mechanical design, including knowledge of mechanical components, linkages, and custom mechanisms such as linear and rotary actuators.

Experience working with various components, such as motors (steppers, servos, BLDCs), motor controllers/drivers, encoders, and optical/magnetic sensors.

Knowledge of firmware and embedded systems, including programming languages like C++ and Python, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and 32-bit microcontrollers.

Generate innovative concepts and create detailed manufacturing designs and drawings.

Develop 3D models using SolidWorks to visualize and analyze designs.

Enforce drawing control procedures and contribute to enhancing company standards.

Support the Sales Team and the Project Manager with surveys, application selection, and solution building

Extensive HVAC control system design experience

Engineer hardware, software, graphics, and sequence of operations

Create control drawings, valve and damper sizing, select proper control devices

Communicate technical concepts/solutions to internal and external customers

Review job contract plans, scope and specifications, analyze estimates and take-off sheets

Post-secondary education in Automation, Electro-Mechanical or a related field

1-5 years process related technician experience

Experience working with Surface Mount Technology (SMT)

Previous experience in an electronic environment a definite asset

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Preventative Maintenance, repair and implementation of work orders on diverse production equipmen

Time Management - Complete deliverables on time to meet project deadlines

Communication Skills - Communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients

Learning - Ability to learn new technology stacks and willingness to expand on skillset

Basic to Intermediate skill level with any programming language
