Job Description

We are currently looking for an Automation Designer to join the Engineering team at our site in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC.

The main responsibilities of the position:
  • Create and program operator interfaces;
  • Prepare and/or support factory test planning;
  • Document required electrical equipment;
  • Design electrical controls for these systems and/or equipment according to a given contract;
  • Instruct customer employees on the proper operation of equipment;
  • Support factory equipment assembly and verification;
  • Create the operation sequences (“grafcet”) and the logical programming code (“PLC”) to control the required equipment;
  • Support or direct the installation and start-up of equipment at the site;
  • Document the intended supply and operating philosophy of mechanical systems and/or equipment in the area of handling/finishing for the metal, pulp and paper industry;
  • Verify and manage allocated time and material budgets;
  • Correct programming and electrical operational problems, possibly hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical as well.
Qualifications and experience:
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and move from one task to another in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Good computer skills;
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English (oral and written);
  • College degree related to the job and/or equivalent experience;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
