Desired Skills and Experience

- 3+ years experience within Automation Mechanical Design

- Strong working experience with pneumatics and/or Servo

- 3+ years of experience with SolidWorks

- Experience with solutions based designing

- Strong written and oral communication with a self starter attitude

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering or equivalent

Plusses

- Familiar with industry safety standards

- CSWP certified SolidWorks professional

- Robotics experience

Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Automation Designer to join a leading automation company. The candidate will be joining the mechanical engineering team to assist in designing custom mechanical solutions for their respective life sciences clients'. This individual will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, analyzing engineering drawings, producing work drawings, and providing design support related to the construction of industry regulations. This is an extremely hands on position and the candidate will be assigned to a station where they will be responsible for one or more aspects of the automation solution. The candidate must have hands-on experience in automation mechanical design, SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of pneumatics/servo. The successful candidate will be required to come into the Cambridge location 2-3 days per week.
