Rate of pay: $30 / hour

Overall Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

Assist with regulatory compliance requirements (reporting, etc);

Assisting Project Managers in all aspects of project execution;

At least 1 year experience in either the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset;

You have the demonstrated ability to perform studies in aquatic ecology (Study design and project management experience is an asset)

Design and perform effective aquatic habitat and aquatic biota surveys to meet applicable regulatory or project specific requirements

You have 2-5 years experience working in a related role, preferably including consulting experience

You are comfortable working in and around water, in remote areas, in all weather conditions, and at night

General knowledge of fish and fish habitat

Experience with a range of fish and aquatic sampling techniques

Carries out any other related duties and necessary in keeping with the requirements and qualifications for the job.

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred experience in institutional janitorial work or hotel experience.

General knowledge of cleaning rules and regulations, security and safety policies and procedures.

Ability to meet physical requirements involving considerable walking, climbing and manual work.

Cleans up spillages and spot washes and disinfects floor surfaces where spillages occur or as requested.

Current qualifications to teach/examine course being taught

High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, considered an asset

Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating leadership course for all participants

Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants

Communicate with participants in regards to lesson opportunities and accident prevention

Experience and knowledge in various market sectors including water resources, infrastructure, transportation, oil and gas, mining, or hydroelectric

Superior verbal and written communication skills including your experience in writing proposals, technical reports and general project correspondence

Experience with GIS and skilled in Microsoft Office Suite®

Experience with benthic invertebrate sampling

Working knowledge of Provincial and Federal Environmental Legislation and permitting processes

Exceptional team spirit, interpersonal skills and your ability to build long-term, successful relationships with our clients and our multi-disciplinary project teams

Conflict resolution and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage simultaneous demands.

City of Ottawa WHMIS certification

AODA - Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (legislated training required by 2010)

Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

Technical skills for the appropriate duty

Must have good verbal communication skills
