Create and execute social media and general marketing plans for course offerings, special events and community events.

Support program staff in planning for internal workshops and events that enhance the student experience.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines

Remote work experience is an asset

Support the Engagement Coordinator and the Manager, Engagement & Policy with administrative tasks, meeting coordination, and organizational activities

Perform related duties as assigned by the Engagement Coordinatorand/or Manager

Post-secondary education in a related field

Personable with strong relationship building skills

- Familiarity with event and volunteer management techniques and tools

- 3 years' experience managing events, projects and volunteers

- Experience in Alumni Relations or a fundraising environment

- Media skills with solid communications judgment to effectively present and package information to maximize interest

- Self-driven, critical thinker who is highly skilled at anticipating and resolving stakeholder relation issues

- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Regularly assess and evaluate the donor experience to drive continuous improvement.

Stay ahead of the curve regarding marketing trends, ensuring the organization benefits from the latest strategies and best practices.

Develop and implement integrated brand strategies to boost the ROM Governors' brand awareness.

Lead the conceptualization and production of fundraising campaigns and events that amplify the organization's philanthropic efforts.

Direct donor engagement operations, including e-philanthropy.

Utilize data analytics to inform and shape marketing decisions, ensuring they are evidence-based.

Strong event management skills with history of leading successful events, activations and/or experience.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in community relations, public relations, or event management. 

Ability to interact with a variety of different departments & senior management team.

Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field.

Previous experience in marketing, youth hockey events.

Previous experience as a professional athlete or working alongside professional athletes and or other high-profile individuals.

High attention to detail, excellent customer service, ability to meet deadlines and skillfully manage multiple priorities.

Excellent computer skills (Advance, Excel, Word, Google Suite, experience with Zoom and webinars).

Negotiates contracts for services, vendors, suppliers, and contractors and manages program expenditures.

2-3 years of experience working in non-profit sector, student engagement, alumni relations, fundraising, community relations, communications, or special events/programming.

Well-developed communication skills (written and oral) and proven diplomacy when dealing with volunteers.

Experience working at a large post-secondary institution or non-profit organization. Experience within the University of Alberta faculty environment is an asset.

Minimum of 5 years experience in fundraising and sponsor/donor management and event coordination

Previous sales, relationship management and negotiating experience

Strong relationship management skills focused on the cultivation and stewardship of current and prospective donors

Demonstrated ability and experience developing grant/program funding proposals to government, foundations, corporate and private funders.

Manager, Advancement and Alumni Engagement

The Manager, Advancement and Alumni Engagement will be responsible for:

Graphic design and/or page layout design skills (or interest to learn), and experience with tools like Canva or Adobe’s InDesign software.

In-depth knowledge of the UN Global Goals (SDGs) and understanding of human rights-based approach to development.

Knowledge of, and commitment to, feminist, anti-racist and decolonial practice and ongoing (un)learning, and an interest in international development and cooperation.

Experience organizing events, is an asset.

Impeccable written and oral abilities.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working knowledge of donor database management;

Working with the Marketing and Communications Manager, manage donor communications including acknowledgements, updates, invitations, and solicitations;

Develop a donor management system and oversee donation platforms on CanadaHelps and the museum’s website;

University or College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;

Develop and manage programs for annual, monthly, and legacy giving, as well as endowment funds;

Provide advice to the Operations Manager on the growth of the Membership Program;

Understanding of/experience with managing the donor life cycle, moves management, acquisition and retention best practice is considered a strong asset.

Experience with non-profit projects, programs and/or event management.

Interpersonal Skills And Self Management

Undergraduate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Hybrid work environment (2 days in-office, 3 days remote per week) with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours.
