Volunteer: English Tutor Needed (For High School Volunteers Only)

BrookEdge Academy ("BEA") is a not-for-profit organization incorporated federally, whose idea founders and program operators are the students who are committed to change the world kinder by helping younger students. BEA offers quality education programs to children for free, covering Homework Support, Virtual Parties, Fun Clubs, Summer Workshops and Learning Groups. The Academy actively recruits student volunteers to breathe fun and purpose to its online programs. The Academy is a student-driven organization, and student volunteers have the options to volunteer from home.

Two English Tutors are needed for virtual tutoring programs - High School Volunteers Only.

Program 1 Reading Stories in English

English Level Beginner of English as a Second Language

Expectation To learn the basics (reading and sighting words of Pre-school level words)

Starting Date Any soonest day that the tutor can start

Session duration 45 or 60 mins

Sessions in a week 1 session per week in July and August

Preferred time slots Tutor's preference (subject to future discussion with the family).

Weeks in summer 7 weeks

Instruction languages Spanish

Teaching Plans Chosen by the tutor

Program 2 Writing in English (from sentences to paragraphs)

English Level Rising Grade 4 student in an English program school

Expectation To learn to write one paragraph in each session (The student can write simple individual sentences now)

Starting Date Any soonest day that the tutor can start

Session duration 30 or 45 mins

Sessions in a week 1 session per week in July and August

Preferred time slots Sunday mornings after 10 30 AM or afternoons, Eastern Time

Weeks in summer 6 weeks

Instruction languages English

Teaching Plans Decided by the tutor
