Job Description

Math/Science/Visual Arts/English Teacher –

Lead and inspire our students through excellence in teaching and learning

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our small independent school seeks passionate qualified teachers to engage students and

deliver exceptional experiential learning in Ontario-inspected curriculum courses. Working in

collaboration with a dedicated administrative team, our teachers have the opportunity to make the

curriculum come alive and provide individualized learning experiences in classes with low student-to

teacher ratios while being part of a caring, growing school community leading extracurricular

activities.

OUR PROGRAM:

We provide a high-quality, inspirational program supporting Grades 9-12 with a combination of online

and in-person learning opportunities that inspire and broaden our students’ interests, knowledge

development and learning skills to master their post-secondary experiences. We also offer Advanced

Placement courses with onsite exams in a semestered timetable structure focusing on students’

interests and strengths while fulfilling university pathway prerequisites.

Students benefit from small class sizes, rich in experiential learning opportunities, while we support

JOB DUTIES:

• Expertly teach the Ontario Math/Science/Visual Arts/English curriculum in accordance with MOE expectations

• Use a variety of teaching methodologies tailored to individual student's learning styles and needs

• Evaluate student progress using appropriate and diverse assessment techniques providing timely,

constructive feedback to students and reporting results regularly to admin and parents

• Create a rich, experiential learning environment in the classroom and the school community

• Work with administration and colleagues to enhance learning and support student success

• Grow as a school leader by providing meaningful extracurricular activities and special projects ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• University Degree in your area of specialty

• OCT certification an asset

• Subject matter expertise in the course curriculum and passion for creating experiential learning

opportunities

• Experience teaching secondary school students in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education

guidelines is preferred

• Demonstrate an ability to create an inclusive, positive learning environment and the ability to use

differentiated teaching strategies in the classroom

• Empathetic approach and commitment to student success

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced school environment
