Position: Online and In-Person Tutor

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Type: Part-time, Flexible Hours

About Us:

We are an established educational organization committed to providing high-quality tutoring services to students in Ottawa, Canada. Our mission is to help students succeed in their academic pursuits and foster a passion for learning. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor to join our team and assist students with math, science, and computer science courses through both online and in-person sessions.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents/guardians.
• Provide explanations of complex concepts in an understandable manner.
• Conduct engaging and effective tutoring sessions for students in math, science, and computer science subjects.
• Utilize online tutoring platforms effectively for virtual tutoring sessions.
• Create and utilize learning materials, practice exercises, and quizzes to reinforce understanding.
• Assess student's strengths and weaknesses and tailor tutoring sessions to meet individual learning needs.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• A passion for education and a desire to help students succeed.
• Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines).
• Ability to tutor both in person and online.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in math, science, and computer science topics.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in French is considered an asset.

Schedule and Compensation:

• This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, allowing the tutor to choose the number of hours they are available for tutoring.
• Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
