Job Summary-

Debut is looking for a Video Editor & Videographer to join our Creative Team, under the direction of our Sr. Art Director.

This is a6 month contractposition with high possibility of extension or switching to full-time role.

The Video Editor/Videographer will work closely with the Creative & Production Teams to bring to life a variety of stories suitable for a corporate audience. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for shooting & editing videos that showcase subject profiles for events, conferences, and communication programs.

Behind the scenes, you will work alongside both world-class scientists and heavy-hitting creatives who will work to develop customer and employee engagement strategies that are both innovative and grounded in behavioral insights.

Job Duties-

• May perform other duties as required.
• Deliver content and assignments by deadlines.
• Ensures Debut’s creative standards are met throughout the project.
• Assist in setting up shoots, including on-event, candid captures and sit-down, personal interviews.
• Able to light internal situations, and sometimes exterior
• Adheres to corporate process and policies as required.
• Work with Creative & Production teams to understand the desired look and feel of the client.
• Be on set for shoots and ensure coverage will get what is needed for the edit.
• Assemble recorded raw footage into a finished project that matches the brand and communication objectives.
• Manage and archive digital content and assist archiving video library.
• Shoot and capture creative content for a variety of communication used for internal and external communications on multiple digital platforms.

As this position is in development with respect tocompanygrowth, the position description may be modified as the overalloperational aspects of thecompanychange and evolve over time.

Working Conditions-

• 100% Remote work flexibility within Canada
• This position involves international travel, valid travel documents are required
• Some travel required for on-site event execution

• Cinematography
• Post finishing
• Problem Solving: able to break down a situation into smaller pieces to identify and solve key issues. Use logic and analytical methods to arrive at a realistic solution
• Collaboration: working within a team environment is required to bring together various creative disciplines and team members to produce outstanding client solutions
• Audio recording
• Lighting
• Action orientation: proactively resolves problems and demonstrates initiative
• Knowledge and understanding of video production process including:
• Camera operation
• Video editing
• Attention to detail: must have extensive organization skills and high attention to detail
• Motion Graphics
• Time Management: balances a myriad of tasks; prioritizes duties to meet project milestones/deadlines

Experience-

• Knowledge of how to use boom and lav microphones for recording audio
• Expert editing (Adobe Premiere Pro)
• Bachelor's degree from four-year university or equivalent technical school training
• Agency experience is an asset
• Able to input graphics, perform color correction and audio mixing to enhance footage
• Specific proficiencies:
• Beginner motion graphics (Adobe After Effects)
• Experience operating industry standard camera equipment
• 3 – 5 years of relevant experience
