THE ROLE: The Ultrasonic Data Analyst will be responsible for providing accurate analysis and reporting of the data collected with Pure Technologies, a Xylem brand, innovative pipeline inspection platforms that is of utmost importance to the owners of water and wastewater civil infrastructure. In this role, the incumbent will maintain responsibility for the analysis of ultrasonic data utilizing various state of the art proprietary software and techniques. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


  • Work closely with project teams to understand the full scope of a project, obtain required project information, resolve concerns or problems with the data, meet project deliverables dates.
  • Use ultrasonic data to identify and locate areas with pipe wall thinning and/or pockets of trapped gas within pipelines.
  • Occasional travel throughout North America may be required.
  • Produce technical reports based on the analysis of ultrasonic data.
  • May be required to assist with field inspections, on-site analysis and presentation of results to clients.
  • Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
  • Interpret pipeline engineering drawings and correlate with ultrasonic data.


Qualifications


  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An aptitude for pattern recognition and attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of computer programming (Python, SQL, MATLAB, C++, VBA) and data science methods desirable.
  • Methodical and analytical with problem-solving situations.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • General pipeline knowledge or experience desirable.
  • Knowledge and application of artificial intelligence systems desirable.
  • Experience in non-destructive testing data collection and data analysis desirable.
  • Customer relation skills when dealing with project inquiries.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Strong understanding of the physical sciences.
  • Time management skills and an ability to prioritize various tasks to meet strict deadlines.


Day In The Life


In this role, the working environment is in office and the physical demands may include but not limited to regularly sitting, talking or hearing, both in person and by telephone, using hands and fingers, handling standard office equipment with hands and arms, and viewing of a computer monitor, spreadsheets, documents, and other reports for extended periods of time. In addition, this role may occasionally assist with field work.
