Centrepeace Counselling & Therapy Services is a private practice offering counselling to pre-teens, teens, adults, adult relationships, and families. Most of our services cater to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups. We are located just West of downtown London, Ontario.
We are a group of therapists, counsellors and interns that offer support for issues that can include: symptoms of depression and anxiety; stress and overwhelm; struggles with emotion regulation; relationship strain; parenting and co-parenting issues; identity exploration; minority stress; racism; homophobia; transphobia; ableism; and other forms of discrimination. Our services are predominantly offered in-person. We see our clients' situations from an intersectional lens, and use an eclectic array of theoretical frameworks to inform the work we do.
Job description
Centrepeace Counselling & Therapy Services is searching for a Registered Social Worker (MSW) or Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) to add to our team.
We are currently seeking a part-time clinician to work with 2SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 10-25, as well as their parents/caregivers and other family members. This clinician must be able to commit to working with Centrepeace for a minimum of 18-20 sessions per month (minimum of 4-6 sessions/week).
The clinician must have regular availability to see clients in person for one of the following:
-two evenings per week (approximately 5-9pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays);
-one evening per week (as above) and one half-day on Saturdays (9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm);
-one evening (as above) and one weekday block of time (9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm on Thursdays or Fridays);

What we need from you:
- You are able to work at least 4-6 paid hours per week
- You are trained in, experienced with and passionate about supporting members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ population who are aged 10-25, who are dealing with mental health symptoms, life transitions, identity issues, family and relationship struggles, discrimination, violence and/or trauma
- You work from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens
- You have experience and training about working with 2SLGBTQIA+ community in at least one of these areas: individual youth work; family therapy; parent support and therapy; ADHD, Autism and neurodivergence; disAbilities; transgender transitioning; ableism, discrimination, racism, and/or islamophobia.
- You will develop your own referral network in addition to referrals provided by Centrepeace
- You adhere to your profession’s code of ethics and standards of practice
- You have a home office space and reliable internet that are suitable for virtual sessions and meetings, when needed
- You work well as part of a diverse and passionate team
Qualifications required:
- Experience using therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy or Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and other trauma-informed approaches
- Masters degree or higher in Social Work, Counselling Psychology or other equivalent field of study, with current registration and liability insurance in Ontario
- Applicants from the 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities will be given preference, as our clients tend to prefer seeing therapists from our community
- Minimum one year clinical practice experience (will consider relevant internships/practicum experience as part of this experience)
- Participation in regular consultation, supervision and professional development activities
