Occupant safety systems rely on active sensors and microprocessors to trigger pre-crash and in-crash occupant protection (such as tightening safety belts and deploy airbags) when it judges a collision is inevitable. Critical crash information is sent over e-call to emergency services and recorded for post-crash analysis.

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for leading on-going continuous improvement as well as supporting daily production.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with other test engineers and product designers to develop strategies for future product test equipment.
• Project management, including specification and implementation of new test equipment.
• Support test executive based functional test equipment and drive continuous improvement (tester uptime, reliability, performance and cycle time).
• Search for reduced costs through higher integration and innovative test strategies.
• Interface with test equipment vendors as required to gain internal competencies in making changes as listed to equipment.
• Perform test limit refinement; sequence changes to accommodate new hardware or software product versions; fundamental platform changes.

What You'll Bring

• Hands-on experience with product design on RF systems and /or test development for a high-volume manufacturing environment targeted for the automotive electronics market.
• Experience in the specification, design, procurement and acceptance of test equipment.
• Familiarity with software development in LabWindows and TestStand. The software will control test instrumentation such as sensors, relays, actuators, digital and analog I/O.
• Hands-on experience with machine troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Strong ability to debug hardware and software.
• Electrical and/or Mechatronic Engineering Degree.
• Familiarity with applications that interact with hardware for high volume manufacturing environment.
• 3-5 years of work experience in the development of test systems preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Skilled in interpreting electronic schematics, engineering specifications and good knowledge of industry components.
