The ABB Measurement & Analytics plant in Québec is the world leader in spectroscopy. Our Contract Engineering Department is Canada's largest supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide.

By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec, you will actively contribute to the activities of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate has strong expertise in integration and testing but first and foremost enjoys working with people. The AIT supervisor must be able to hold technical conversations with the various members of his team but also to communicate effectively with the project managers, Management, Operations, and customers. He is proactive, an excellent communicator and excels at problem solving. Within the Engineering Department, the integration and testing supervisor will also be called upon to perform various mandates related to supervision.
Your responsibilities

• Participate in the initial planning of the projects, the assessment of costs and timetables.
• Responsible for proactively escalating project/contract execution issues.
• Planning of the budget of the group and engineering lab.
• Perform his duties in accordance with the standards established, the directives, work processes, policies, and procedures in place.
• Ensure the use of good laboratory practices, in a context of the continuous improvement and standardization of working methods.
• Monitor the performance of the members of his team and hold the individual meetings.
• Plan resource allocations in the projects and recruit the necessary resources.
• Manage the team to ensure project success and team spirit.
• Run the weekly team meetings.
• Participate in the design reviews and project retrospectives.
• Recruitment and supervision of external staff and interns.
• Responsible for the succession and development plans of the team members.

Your background

• 5 years of experience in supervision or demonstrate the qualities required for direction and management.
• Ability to suggest improvements to procedures and methodologies.
• Positive attitude and common sense.
• Ability to work effectively at all levels of the company.
• Demonstrate leadership, initiative, innovation while being customer -oriented.
• Demonstrate great ability to develop people.
• Committed to excellence.
• Demonstrate strong decision-making ability.

• Education and experience in engineering, physics or other relevant disciplines.
• Integrity and open-mindedness.
• Bilingualism (French/English) and excellent written and spoken communication skills.
