Job Description
Our client in Newmarket is looking for a Test Analyst.


Role


The Test Analyst is responsible for testing the quality of applications to ensure they are consistent with system requirements.

Major Responsibilities


  • Develop test cases and test scripts based on requirements and document release notes.
  • Work with client project teams on large a project to perform testing in different phases (i.e. user acceptance testing, system integration testing, regression testing, etc.).
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to derive the use cases that should be tested.
  • Prepare and document all test results and upload them in the appropriate test management tool.
  • Execute test scripts to test the functionality of applications.
  • Basic test case and test design skills
  • Analyze previous issues and log defects for any concerns found in the application.
  • Advanced technical aptitude and the ability to learn new applications quickly
  • Report bugs and errors to project teams and document in tracking systems.
  • Participate in meetings to support the testing workstream activities and articulate test results and recreation of defects.


Knowledge


  • Understanding of meter data
  • Understanding of utility meter to cash operations
  • Basic knowledge of AMI systems or MDM systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of the testing phase of the software development lifecycle


Experience


  • Undergraduate degree/diploma in Computer Science or Software Development
  • Previous experience in a utility environment testing various metering systems (AMI, MDM, CIS, and auxiliary systems)
