Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Team Supervisor for the Neurology Clinic at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Team Supervisor will act as 1st line supervision of the CSR and Billing Tech positions within the Neuro POD’s clinical operations. This position is essential to keeping the day-to-day non-clinical patient flow moving throughout the clinical experience. This position will provide clerical support to enhance pre and post patient visit processes; i.e, contact labs/outside faculties to obtain results and/or referrals if patient did not bring with them at time of visit, manage non-clinical desktop and phone management.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Promptly answers incoming calls in courteous and professional manner. Answers routine inquiries regarding physician qualifications, appointment times, directions, etc. Retrieves voicemail messages as needed. Responds to clinical staff requests to page members of the clinical team.
  • Competently utilizes computer system ( EPIC , Navinet, etc.) to retrieve requested patient information. Responsible for electronic order entry knowledge-based charting system ( EPIC , Navinet, etc). Retrieves medical information from the ( EPIC , Navinet, etc.) and retrieves patient information from other facilitates as requested, including medical record reports, x-rays, and pathology slides. Files medical records in appropriate location.
  • Confirms appointment schedules, procedure schedules and admission schedules with patients, physicians, and/or nurse practitioners.
  • Works with other facilities to schedule procedures, treatments and multi-day admissions. Maintains schedule book for these procedures and admissions. Registers patients in computer system as needed.
  • Maintains statistical logs or quality tracking logs as requested. Assists with data collection for Quality Improvement (QI) studies.

  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field, plus three (3) or more years of progressive experience in medical billing and collections using computerized practice management software applications.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to employees.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint). Experience with EPIC , and Navinet.
  • Must be knowledgeable of current Medicare/Medicaid and HMO commercial insurance’s regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve patient inquiries and employee issues and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
