Team Lead, Styling Jobs

Reporting to the Manager of Styling, the Team Lead of Styling is responsible for overseeing daily styling team functions to ensure that all production needs are met. They will play a crucial role in developing key processes to help the team achieve their goals. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of fashion and styling and is energized by leading a team of creatives to do their best work. This role requires a highly collaborative style and the ability to influence and motivate others to drive performance results.

Responsibilities

Production Management - 70%

• Liaise with Manager of Styling and Styling Specialist to achieve daily production targets while adhering to strict visual standards
• Collaborate closely with Associate Producers to ensure that production and booking needs are met
• Collaborate closely with Studio Merchandising team to ensure stylists have access to correct product
• Actively participate and lead the development of training documentation for the team
• Identify and solve production problems as they arise, such as last minute cancellations or ad hoc requests
• Manage the inventory of styling equipment

People Leadership and Development - 30%

• Support the Manager's recruiting strategy by screening, interviewing and onboarding new full time and freelance stylists
• Support the Manager of Styling in the performance management process for team members
• Actively participate and lead the development of training documentation for the team
• Develop onboarding programs for new hires and freelancers to ensure seamless integration within the team
• Support Manager in identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
• Knowledge of photography, and/or retouching is an asset
• Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fashion media/history and styling
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in fashion management or a related field
• Experience with drafting, documenting and implementing new procedures
• A minimum of 5-7 years experience in fashion ideally in an e-commerce environment or studio setting
• Open to working evenings and weekends as required
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership role
