Objective of Position

Our IT Applications team currently supports and maintains the software applications critical to our business – ERP system, CRM system, HRMS system, accounting system, and custom applications & reporting solutions.

The IT Applications team develops and supports all business applications in a diverse and high-paced environment. We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual with strong programming and analytical skills that can support a wide range of software configurations and development while providing essential support to internal and external customers. You will be the subject matter expert in our products and business processes related to our IT systems and day-to-day operations.


Accountabilities:

  • Develop and document new IT checklists, policies and procedures or enhance existing policies.
  • Consult user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions.
  • Provide users with business systems, network and Internet support in response to identified difficulties.
  • Rarely, may be required to work after hours or on weekends in case of emergency or planned maintenance.
  • Communicate electronically and in person with computer users experiencing difficulties in determining and documenting problems experienced.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain problems/solutions log in the knowledge base.
  • Reproduce, diagnose and resolve technical problems encountered by users.
  • Participate in projects on the enhancement/upgrade of computer hardware/software.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of backups and perform validation from time to time.
  • Work with vendors to initiate/perform preventative maintenance on hardware/network infrastructure.
  • Take the initiative to proactively improve the current state of affairs rather than taking a reactive approach.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the management from time to time.
  • Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties.
  • Work with server/network support vendors to ensure that server infrastructure and network are functioning at an optimum level.


Experience / Capabilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, verbal and written communication.
  • Passionate about technology, curiosity to learn and experiment with new technologies.
  • 3+ years’ experience involving full SDLC using one of the modern programming languages, preferably C#.NET, including application architecture and design phases.
  • Passionate about problem-solving, with an ability to provide solutions supported by critical thinking and facts derived from available documentation/data.
  • Ability to create technical and non-technical documentation on hardware/software systems.

Technical skillset should include an entry-level understanding of the following:

  • Printer entry-level problems
  • Office 365 Administration
  • Windows Server Administration
  • Workstation and laptop hardware
  • Basic IP networking and connectivity
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Printer Installation and troubleshooting
  • Business Applications
  • Network Administration


Good to Have

Understanding/experience working with the following technologies would be considered a plus:

  • Virtualization concepts, especially VMWare and V-center administration
  • Experience working in the Manufacturing domain would be a strong asset
  • Experience working in a similar role would be a strong asset
  • Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy Management
  • IP Telephony Technology
  • Backup & Replication tools/technology


Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer science or related field.
  • Any certifications related to programming languages or SQL are good to have.


Working Conditions

  • Pressure to produce tangible results and complete projects within tight timelines.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
  • Intermittent travel may be required to support the IT department and attend meetings and training sessions.
  • Lifting and/or carrying anywhere from 0 lbs to 20 lbs.
  • Operate primarily in an office environment.
