As a Support Worker at VCH you will

• Transporting clients to and from required areas using stretchers and wheelchairs
• Moving a variety of equipment within the assigned areas
• Cleaning equipment and tidying up various supply and client areas as required within a high volume environment
• Maintaining supplies for various carts, rooms and storage areas
• Assisting nursing and technical staff with the lifting and transferring of clients and with providing support to clients
• Replenishing ward supplies
• Assisting in meal delivery
• Act as a member of an integrated care team by performing duties such as

Education & Experience

• Grade 12 plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Ability to organize work.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
