Job Title: Support Worker - LTC near Hanover (P/T or Casual available)

Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Facility Type - LTC

Qualifications:

• Completion of high school or college diploma
• Membership into the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association an asset.
• Proof of current immunizations for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV)
• Availability to work shifts in the evenings
• Updated First Aid CPR
• Personal Support Worker Certificate
• Proof of negative TB skin test within the past one (1) year or a negative chest x-ray within the past five (5) years

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of residents care plans.
• Assist the client with appropriate socialization activities as per the clients choice and emotional needs.
• Assist the client with personal care such as dressing, personal hygiene, mobility, toileting, eating, and other routines of daily living, allowing each to do as much as possible for him/herself.
• Medication monitoring and assistance- follow medication procedures to assist clients with medications.
• Maintain accurate documentation as required.
• Demonstrate initiative and professionalism at all times with residents, families, and community contacts.

8. Good organizational and time management skills.

9. Gather information and prepare reports, provide personal support services to persons with special needs.

10. Ability to work under pressure.
