The Role
As the Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization Analyst, you will support the B2B and B2C business with the right amount of inventory, at the right time, at the right place to serve the business and our customers. You will perform data analysis on a regular basis analyzing current and historical trends, providing insights to optimize inventory service levels while reducing cost.
You will also work closely with Category team, Product Development, Supply Chain team members and Finance to forecast, provide order recommendations, order fulfillment and overall inventory management duties. Each day will be rewarding and meaningful.
What you will do:
- Manage customer fulfillment KPI’s such as in-stock, late purchase order management, vendor fill rates, system lead days, etc.
- Maintain proper SKU/Vendor setup as it relates to replenishment parameters in Slim4 demand applications.
- Complete the daily out of stock review, identifying trends and inventory depth opportunities that could result in out of stocks.
- Collaborate, determine load in and maintain forecasts for new items as created by the Category Specialist and new Product Development team.
- Partner with the Supply Chain team to managing inventory and service level KPI’s.
- Review inventory KPI’s on a frequent basis and discuss the results with the Category Manager to evaluate inventory management opportunities and results.
- Issue and follow up with vendor performance in a timely manner.
- Promotional forecasting – Analyze inventory and sales data (where required) to support proposed promo position and evaluate impact on current and future inventory levels to determine the best way to support customers.
- Identify unexpected inventory opportunities between sales and forecast. Research to determine root cause working closely with the Merchant team. Providing recommendations to resolve opportunity.
- Collect, analyze and report on sales/inventory data to support seasonality and trends. Adjust the forecast/demand in Slim4 .
- Develop and build Score Card and KPI to manage the business
- Execute department and SKU level plans to drive merchandise inventory strategies. This includes localization and monitoring for smooth transition between selling periods.

- Ability to act as experience resource, anticipating and resolving problems to ensure completion of deliverables within expectations and by deadline
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and to manage their time effectively with changing priorities.
- Experience with business intelligence/decision support models
- Experience with Visual Basic, Microsoft SQL applications and reporting applications an asset
- Passionate for driving improvements
- Strong sense of curiosity
- Experience dealing with stakeholders in variety of levels
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI), SQL and VBA.
- Successful completion of post-secondary education, with a focus on retail management, inventory or supply chain is an asset.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills to analyze client and business needs
- Experience with core data supply chain activities (or strong understanding thereof) an asset
- Experience in Slim4/Slim stock
- History of quality assurance or quality control experience specific to project deliverables, including issue logs, project reports and communications
- Maintenance and analysis of project progress; and metrics and deliverables
- Approachable
- 2-3 years prior experience in Demand Planning, Buying or Supply Chain role is preferred.
- Problem solver
- Experience with data management in SQL, data queries and related analysis
- Big Data Analytics - Ability to provide insights, and/or predict opportunities proactively by extracting information from the data lake
- Minimum 4 years’ business analysis experience
