Desired Background: For this position we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Business with a major or minor in Supply Chain Management. This exciting opportunity will allow students to acquire the knowledge and skills required to handle challenges that may arise at a large scale mining operation.
Reporting to the Manager Logistics, the individual in this role is responsible for providing support to the Logistics and Marketing Management group through; daily logistics reporting, weekly Key Performance Indicators reporting, database administration, operations coordination, project work, field work including rail service and port operations, participating as a support to business improvement initiatives. We are looking for a versatile, flexible and well-equipped individual, able to handle each project with confidence. Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations, project work, field work including rail service and port operations
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Participate as a support to business improvement initiatives
• Conduct database administrations
• Conduct daily logistics reporting, weekly Key Performance Indicators reporting

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment
• Able to learn new technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point, Excel
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work as a member of the Materials Management team
• Self-starter with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
• Requirement to maintain confidentiality and work at the highest level of professionalism and integrity
• Possess a valid driver’s license (minimum BC 7N or equivalent)
• Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand
• Second or fourth year student enrolled in a Bachelor's of Business Degree Program with a major or minor in Supply Chain Management
