Overview Of The Role


Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, this position supervises the Tavistock inventory control team by ensuring compliance to established accountability practices and processes. This position is a key element in ensuring delivery of the Tavistock business plan as it relates to the control of inventory with the Tavistock supply chain. A focus on inventory policy compliance and developing best practices across the Saputo Tavistock Inventory network, as well as scheduling and supervisory activities of the Inventory Control Team.


How you will make contributions that matter:


  • Provides employee leadership directly to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management
  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo Values.
  • Coordinates all count processes ensuring all inventoried products are counted at least once per month in accordance with company policy on variances and documentation.
  • Actively support internal and external audits.
  • Cooperates in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments within the Company
  • Analyze inventory count results and KPI’s to compile reports.
  • Plans, directs and coordinates the activities of the Inventory Control department in an organized, safe and sanitary work environment that is in compliance with the Company’s policies
  • Ensures all transactions are recorded timely and accurately, to reflect a correct inventory position at any time. These include shipments, donations, product loss and damage.
  • Plan and execute external warehouse spot checks, and is responsible for the execution of all reconciliation activities
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a Supervisor requiring planning, evaluating, training, organizing, integrating and delegating.
  • Trains, instructs and coaches employees in regard to work performed.


You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:


  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to successfully lead others through change.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, computer-based applications, WMS systems experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • A minimum of 5 years hands-on plant experience in the dairy plant or food industry operations, with a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees
