Position Overview

Directly accountable to the Administrator of Sherwood Park Manor, the Maintenance Student will carry out a variety of tasks and duties to upkeep and repair the facility and its property. On a day-to-day basis the student may work under the guidance of the maintenance coordinator. This is a full-time, temporary position with a maximum work duration of sixteen (16) beginning from the first day of work.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the Administrator or Maintenance Coordinator.
• Update the electrical panel boxes identifying what breakers work with what electrical outlets, lights equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, etc.as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Demonstrated skill and ability in the job functions associated with the position.
• Minimum grade 12 plus proof of formal post secondary education in progress.
• Ability to take direction, to work independently and to work as a member of a team.
• Must have a up to date police and vulnerable sector check.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to walk for long periods and to lift up to 20 kg.
• Ability to stoop, bend and reach above the shoulders.
• Must have an up to date 2 –step TB test.
