Reporting to the Director- Procurement, the Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in coordinating and executing change management, sourcing activities and supplier performance. You will work closely with local and regional functions to successfully deploy Supply Chain business objectives across Canada. We are looking for an experienced and strategy-driven procurement expert to develop and implement cross-category strategic sourcing processes, contract/vendor management practices, and drive other areas of continuous improvement.
GIP is fast paced and entrepreneurial driven, and you must be prepared to balance local/regional decision making with corporate oversite and best practices. Through a collaborative process involving staff, vendors, category managers and internal stake holders, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining sourcing strategies and processes throughout the organization.
Key General Role Responsibilities:
Expertise and Program Development:
- Implement policies and procedures to support and improve our procurement processes
Development and maintenance of the strategic vision for the Supply Chain Team
- Manage, coach, develop, and mentor a team of category managers
- Maintain an ongoing relationship with Sales and Operations teams to ensure that Supply Chain is aligned with major future business opportunities
- Develop and implement strategies and objectives for assigned procurement teams that drive short and long-term efficiencies
- Drive continuous improvement within assigned categories
- Conduct strategic supplier relationship management, risk analysis and compliance
Specific Responsibilities:
- Execute and implement balanced supplier selection metrics and scorecard
- Work with business partners to develop sourcing forecasts and budgets
- Track cost savings, spend compliance, and variances
- Conduct vendor negotiations, review contracts, and work with Legal on contract management
- Develop and support strategic sourcing initiatives
- Oversee critical supplier relationship management and contract management processes
- Manage the strategy for $500 million-$1 billion in spend, working closely with Senior Leadership to provide clear information to support decision making
Reporting & Finance:
- Design and implement policies, processes and tools to ensure an efficient and controlled spend approval process
- Work with Operations and Finance to ensure that solutions best satisfy project requirements
- Update, revise and format reports relating to procurement performance, compliance and various spend analyses
Field Leadership and Support:
- Provide mentorship and leadership to those around you
- Influencing key strategic decisions through clear storytelling, impactful thought leadership and a consultative approach
- Driving best in class strategic sourcing that supports profitable growth
- Providing subject matter category expertise and pro-active opportunity identification to stakeholders across the organization
- Collaborate with and support local leadership. Direct and lead the outcomes when required to maximize procurement’s overall value
