The Training and Cabin Standards (TCS) team is responsible for the training of the following regulated employee groups: pilots, flight attendants, flight dispatchers, technical operations, and Integrated Operations Center personnel. In addition, this team ensures regulatory compliance of cabin crew standards in training programs and documents, manuals, announcements, etc.

Reporting to the Manager, Training Programs, the Specialist, Translation and Editing is responsible to ensure the linguistic quality of both English and French documents produced by the TCS team. While this role is part of the Training Programs team, the successful candidate will also be translating and editing texts for various other departments within Training and Cabin Standards group.

• Engage in quality improvement initiatives as required.
• Act as a reference for colleagues on issues related to English and French language and terminology.
• Consult subject-matter experts and other colleagues to understand specialized concepts and translate them accurately.
• Responsible for the selection, customization, and post-purchase assessment of in-house translation tools.
• Adhere to branding standards and guidelines to ensure a consistent, professional, and customer-friendly tone in all documents.
• Translate and adapt texts of various types from English to French and French to English.
• Perform any other duties related to training and cabin standards.
• Review and proofreading of documents produced by the TCS team to ensure linguistic quality (English and French).

Qualifications

• University degree in translation or equivalent.
• Acute attention to detail
• Demonstrated strong translation and writing skills (English and French) with acute attention to detail.
• Aviation background an asset.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Result-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to ever-changing client standards
• Knowledge of the structure and content of both English and French languages, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, and pronunciation.
• Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and translation software.
• Autonomous and resourceful.
• Minimum of three years of professional translation experience within a corporate or regulatory environment
• Bilingual: Complete fluency in French and English, including excellent writing and editing skills.
