About The Role

The Workday Machine Learning Integrations team is dedicated to revolutionizing the way ML models are adopted within enterprise software applications. We are a group of highly skilled and passionate individuals who are committed to making the integration of ML models seamless and frictionless for our clients. With a deep understanding of both software development and ML, we work collaboratively to build innovative solutions that simplify the process of incorporating ML inference applications into our enterprise software system. This role will primarily involve developing software solutions that enable seamless integration between our enterprise software system and machine learning (ML) inference applications. Additionally, this engineer will be responsible for interviewing potential users, generating and prioritizing potential features to accelerate ML adoption, and making the process frictionless.

About You

We are open to hiring at either a Software Development Engineer or Sr Software Development Engineer level, depending on experience and skills of the selected candidate.

Basic Qualifications (Software Development Engineer)

• 3+ years designing, developing, and maintaining reusable APIs using Java, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and alignment to best practices.
• 3+ years Java programming language, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

Basic Qualifications (Sr Software Development Engineer)

• 5+ years designing, developing, and maintaining reusable APIs using Java, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and alignment to best practices.
• 5+ years Java programming language, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

Other Qualifications

• Ability to conduct user interviews to gain insights into their needs, pain points, and challenges in adopting ML technologies, and effectively translate them into technical requirements.
• Collaborative attitude to work closely with Workday application development teams, gathering feedback on past integrations, and translating them into innovative feature ideas.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators.
• Consistent track record of building robust and scalable Java APIs that facilitate seamless integration between our enterprise software system and ML inference applications.
• Familiarity with UML (Unified Modeling Language) for designing and documenting software architecture and system interactions.
• Thorough knowledge of software testing and debugging methodologies, with a commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable software components.
• Strong analytical skills to generate and prioritize potential features and enhancements based on user feedback and market trends, aiming to accelerate ML uptake and reduce friction.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in Java development.
• Proficiency in implementing efficient data processing and communication mechanisms using Java, enabling flawless data exchange between systems.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement - United States

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location: USA.CO.Boulder

Primary Location Base Pay Range: $118,400 - $177,600

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $112,500 - $204,000
