FirstCon Group Ltd. is in the business of constructing landmark buildings and lasting relationships” FirstCon was established in 2010 to provide construction management services to our parent development company, Freed Developments. Today, we have grown to include strategic partnerships and provide our clients’ with over 20-years of combined construction experience within our team.
Your primary role will see you serve as a key member of the project delivery team for FirstCon group Ltd., (“FirstCon”) fulfilling the role of site clerk for the project you are assigned. Your duties and responsibilities shall include Project Administration assisting the Project Manager, the project Co-ordinator & The site superintendent and the site staff as requested.
1. Principal Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Trade communications
- Hoist Scheduling
- General document and picture management
- Health & Safety meetings, walk through, accident reports
- Collecting Account Finalizations / Close outs from Trades
- Change Orders & Purchase Orders – Have invoices signed by site super, prepare PO or CO for approval by PM, e-file all project invoices.
- Budget, Monthly progress draw assembly & processing, as well as updating budget with all invoicing and progress draw information.
- Assist in tracking deficiencies shown in the Pre-technical Audit
- Collecting all Hand Over documents at end of project and file
- RFI’s & Site Instructions, update these and all logs as necessary.
- Work transmittals
- Occupancy Files (Binder for inspector
- Knowledge of Site Instructions, RFI’s, Drawings, logging of updated information
- Ensure health and safety compliance with all trades under your responsibility and correct, and notify your supervisor of, any observed hazards on site.
- Scheduling of meetings and meeting minutes
- Ensure that all work, under your assigned responsibility, is performed in accordance with the project drawings and specifications, and in accordance with FirstCon safety policies and procedures and in accordance with FirstCon operating procedures.
- Work together with consultants and representatives of authorities having jurisdiction, as directed by your supervisor.
2. Document Control:
- Receive, transfer, track and respond to the requests for information
- Familiarization with shop drawings
- Ensure packing slips are returned to the office and attach appropriate slips to invoices
- Keep plans and plan list up to date for the project team and trades
- Distribute construction documents related to the execution of work on site to Site Superintendent, subcontractors and the entire project team and ensure the information was successfully received
- Distribute change orders with high priority so that the construction site is aware of changes as soon as possible
- Stamp, log, and file shop drawings submitted by subcontractor
- Coordinate the reviewed and final approval of the shop drawings.Transfer final shop drawings to the appropriate individuals
- Manage and file the pictures for the entire project
- Keep an organized and continuously updated (daily) file structure for all the construction documents on the drive
- Compile approved shop drawings for all fields of work
- Responsible for printing and scanning documents/drawings
Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
- Ability to lead in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Ability to read, understand, interpret and review drawings and other technical documents.
- An advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control and quality control.
- Strong organizational, time-management & communication skills.
- 1-2 years local Canadian experience in the construction field and in a similar role.
- Construction related degree or diploma is an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Training Requirements:
- WHMIS
- JHSC Training (Is preferred but not mandatory)
- MOL – Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness
- First Aid Certificate (Is preferred but not mandatory)
