Shipping Clerk Jobs

Our client in the optical manufacturing industry is looking for a candidate that is wanting a DIRECT HIRE position. This position is FULL TIME, HEALTH BENEFITS and located in Mississauga. You participate in the surfacing of lenses to ensure that Production targets are met in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Picking:

• Picks incoming Rx/stock jobs/orders from the designated bin locations, as per work-ticket
• Receives incoming orders from Order Entry and/or Lab (breakages) into warehouse

instructions

• Scans properly all items picked, updating inventory accordingly
• Specific procedures are to be followed when picking semi-finished lenses vs. finished

products

• All trays/stock orders are to be dropped off in designated work locations for processing, as

per job requirements. Scans into the appropriate lab locations

• Understands and follows appropriate SOP’s

Rx/Stock Invoicing and Shipping

• Receives Rx jobs from QA and/or stock orders from warehouse pickers, for invoicing and

shipping. Use of DVI as well as couriers’ label printers

• Matches carefully the eyewear pair of glasses with the correct invoice, shipping label and

supplies (if any)

• Packages jobs in appropriate shipping boxes
• Prints out shipping manifests as per each courier’s pick-up time
• Drops the packages in appropriate ICS, UPS, Purolator, Loomis designated bags/locations
• Understands and follows appropriate SOP’s

Lens Receiving

• Scans incoming lenses against open PO’s
• Uses DVI to scan items received, by individual barcodes
• Visually inspects package inspection. If any non-conformities, advises the department

supervisor

• Follows requirements of SOP

Qualifications

• High school graduate is the minimum education requirement
• Must be well organized, detail oriented, have excellent time management and multi-tasking
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
• Optical background considered a strong asset

Abilities

• Continuous learning is a large part of this position
• Standing, walking, reaching and bending constantly throughout the day
• Must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as an individual with minimal supervision
• Occasional lifting/carrying 10 lbs or less, pushing/pulling 30 lbs or less
• Low, moderate and high noise levels (not to exceed standards)
• Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
