Your responsibilities
  • Project execution and control: Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow Identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued Captures, analyses and shares lessons learned throughout the project Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and acknowledgement by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.
  • Document Management: Identify and plan all document deliverables required by the contractual scope of work and incorporate same into the overall project plan/schedule Track document progress and follow-up overdue comments from customer.
  • Project result.
  • Stakeholder relations: Acts as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.
  • Project Recovery: Drives any required project recovery efforts and turnaround of troubled projects. Provide support to less experienced project managers with the recovery of troubled projects by assessment of the situation and making specific recommendations based on experience.
  • Planning and scheduling: Defines and applies advanced project scheduling techniques to manage schedule risks proactively to avoid future schedule deviations with OTD impact. Applies earned value method and to manage the critical path and used float to manipulate schedule. Accurately forecasts schedule to determine if the project is still within defined tolerance ranges and identify any necessary change requests to drive the closure. Plans and tracks all project activities, establish scheduling risks and opportunities, to deliver projects on time, according to commitments to the
  • Customer and ABB in a predictable manner Continuously drives improvement in planning or scheduling techniques and collecting and sharing data and lessons learned from previous projects. Is able to manage same working with a Project Planning and Control Specialist.
  • Health, safety and environment (HSE): Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies. Creates project HSE Plans and ensures that common HSE policies and reporting are implemented across the project with all stakeholders including collaboration/consortium partners and sub-suppliers. Demonstrates doing something different to ensure safety on sites under his responsibility and ensures consistent HSE Performance.
  • Project leadership: Leads the project team, establishes the project execution approach and oversees project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
  • People leadership and development: Coaches and provides feedback for project staff. Leads the project team members within the project requirements and delivery of contracted deliverables as well as towards the fulfilement of the comitted
  • Project portfolio: When taking accountablity for a portfolio of projects takes the accountability that it is managed consistently, based on best practices and ABB Policies with focus on delivering at or above target.
  • Contract and claims/ & Procurement Management: Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements. Ensures that required procurement activities for services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers are performed by the assigned resources. Involves and closely interacts and collaborates with respective functions. Supports Procurement and Logistics in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes.
Your background
  • Ability to self-learn and operate autonomously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Customer Focused, understanding of how to navigate within large marine customer organizations
  • Available to travel >20% time
  • Bachelors' degree and 5 years' marine industry experience.
  • High level of technical know-how in Marine service industry, preferably marine drives and automation systems, AC and DC power systems.
