Provide enthusiastic and energetic team support, Contribute to highly visible technology and process development activity with the Manufacturing Engineering Organization.
Lead the acquisition and development of new production capability to enable design intent to be delivered at the lowest possible cost.
Assess and implement containment measures associated with quality and/or process concerns that are found to affect productivity and/or product quality/performance. Take an active role in technical troubleshooting by providing investigative and documented support in the resolution and implementation of solutions.
Promote and participate in a strong safety and quality culture engage in Occupational Health & Safety initiatives and use of LEAN/Agile tools and methodologies.
What You Will Do Is

• Lead the design and verification of jigs and fixtures. Develop maintenance and calibration schedules.
• Develop and execute verification and validation plans including multi-factorial design of experiments, conducting statistical analysis to verify process control and capability
• Identify and implement new production / inspection capability through acquisition of new process technology to improve cost, quality, and cycle times
• Lead Design for Manufacture (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA) efforts on engineering programs and provide feedback to the design team on improvement
• Assist PMO in helping develop timelines and effort needed to execute new business opportunities and / or changes to project scope.
• Work closely with the production engineering team to plan capacity, equipment and infrastructure needs as part of implementing new production lines
• Apply ‘build-in quality’ tools in the NPI stage including Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Measurement Systems Analysis (Gauge R&R)
• Write and edit technical documentation, train operators as necessary to enable controlled implementation of new products into the production environment

What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity is:

• Knowledge of electronics & optics knowledge is an asset
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Preferred knowledge in PPAP / APQP and associated tools such as FMEA, PFMEA QCP, MSA, etc.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a similar engineering role within a process development environment, preferably electronics assembly and testing environment
• Preferred CAD software, application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to design production jigs / fixtures. (We use SolidWorks)
• Lean Six Sigma training and Green Belt certification is required
• Strong statistical / design of experiment skills and competency in the use of JMP / Minitab
• Experience in the development of production automation/robotics is an asset
