Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling)
& Skill Requirement:
JOB SUMMARY: This position will design and detail tooling, fixturing and gauges driven by Operations, NPD, Service, or any outside entities as needed. The individual will also help drive the cost reduction and productivity enhancement process for automated cell opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and detail tooling, fixturing and gauges required by mfg. as directed by the manager
• Consult with suppliers, customers, Engineering, Purchasing, Mfg., Service and Quality
• Manage internal and external programming to ensure maximum process efficiency
• Maintain tool and fixture documentation and record keeping system
• Must be able to maintain a schedule to accommodate three shifts
• Design, quote, compare and recommend automated cell opportunities to capture cost reduction and productivity enhancements
• Stay current on jig, fixture and automation trends
• Maintain all automated equipment, fixtures and programs to ensure maximum uptime
• Conduct employee training
• Work independently with minimum supervision. Research and procure tooling and machines from outside vendors when required
• Generate bills of materials and assembly drawings as required by the project
• Control expenses by submitting budget information, scheduling expenditures, implement corrective action
• Implement systems, policies and procedures
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organizational standards
• Willingly assist others as necessary
• Ensure quality and customer service standards are being met
• All other duties and responsibilities that are reasonably assigned by the employer or its designee
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Three plus years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
• AutoCAD/Solid Works training or equivalent
• Automation basic programming and maintenance
• Lean Manufacturing training
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Project management skills
• Troubleshooting capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
ABILITIES:
• Proficient in use of Creo Parametric
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel
• Proficient in use of Microsoft PowerPoint
• CNC machining understanding, possibly experience
• Manual welding understanding, possibly experience
• Robotic welding understanding
• Understanding of tooling principals
• Problem solving skills
• Communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively
Qualification:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
