This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.
This role is remote and the person can be located anywhere in Canada.
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Vice President, Finance, Personal Banking. This group provides advice and support to the Personal Banking management team.
The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of preparing and tracking financial results, core financial indicators, forecasts and budgets, and will help coordinate these tasks with other business units within the organization. The incumbent will need to build relationships with Personal Banking managers, who will look to him/her for business analysis, planning, direction and advice. The incumbent will ensure that appropriate controls are in place and are compliant with all applicable regulations. He/she will work on special projects that may impact or integrate with other groups within the finance department as well as other groups across the organization.
Responsibilities
ºPrepare monthly financial reports, proactively analyze variances and issue recommendations for his/her business units.
ºDevelop and oversee budgets and forecasts for his/her business units and act as a resource person for business unit managers in all financial matters.
ºWork with managers, including department vice presidents, to establish the assumptions underlying forecasts and cost allocation, while playing an advisory and strategic role.
ºDesign, develop and carry out financial analysis models, analyze the results and draft recommendations or propose solutions.
ºPrepare and validate financial analyses for capital investments and other strategic initiatives in collaboration with the project managers.
ºContribute actively to the development of new profitability measurement tools and adapt management information to meet the growing need for financial information.
ºReview the business unit's profitability to accommodate organizational needs.
ºContribute to the annual budget process and update forecasts.
ºPresent financial reports to managers.
Qualifications
ºUniversity degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
ºProfessional Accounting or Financial certification (CPA/CMA/CFA), an asset
º8 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, and a minimum of 5 -7 years of management experience
ºExperience supporting management reporting, including preparing executive presentations, working with, and presenting to, senior finance and operational management
ºProficiency in the Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
ºProficiency with the Oracle Essbase application, an asset
ºBilingualism* (French and English) required
