Your Day-to-day
Reporting to the Vice President and Corporate Controller, the Senior Director will play a crucial role as a key change agent, demonstrating strong leadership to improve Air Transats finance function. This person will be an essential internal business partner, collaborating with Air Transat managers and senior management alike. In addition, they will be responsible for fostering cohesion and collaboration within existing teams.

• Demonstrate leadership in the implementation of solutions and improvement initiatives such as:
• Participate in ad hoc committees on financial and project issues;
• Ensure the smooth operation of accounting activities and controls in place;
• Exploration and implementation of new financial technologies and solutions to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial processes.
• Create relevant management reports and/or improve existing ones;
• Ensure the ongoing application and implementation of new accounting standards (IFRS);Ensure the ongoing application and implementation of new accounting standards (IFRS);
• Foster the growth and professional development of team members, encouraging a work environment conducive to the optimization of knowledge.
• Ensure and oversee the production of all the Companys financial data, both statutory and for the various needs of management;
• Automating repetitive tasks, integrating more efficient financial systems and streamlining workflows.
• Lead Air Transats budget process and monitor financial forecasts;
• Work closely with other company departments and stakeholders to align financial objectives with overall organizational goals. Establish and maintain privileged business relationships in order to become a key business partner;
• Work closely with the financial planning team;

A Short List Of Essentials

• Oral and written bilingualism (French and English).
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field;
• 10-15 years experience in a public accounting role;
• Excellent proficiency in Excel and mastery of Office Suite;
• DESS - CPA, CA;
• Good knowledge of IFRS;
• Experience in an accounting firm and/or large corporation an asset;
