M Moser Associates Vancouver office is hiring an accomplished Designer who is capable of taking on a Design Lead role as a Design – Associate, guiding our project teams to win and execute some of the most notable workplace transformation projects in the business.

Job Overview

As an Associate Designer with M Moser Associates, it will be your job to lead our cross disciplinary Project Teams through concept design and storytelling to define new experiences and opportunities for M Moser Associates clients that win work. After gaining the clients trust and winning the work, you will become the key contact throughout the project, managing client expectations and communications while overseeing team member. Part of your role will be to guide the Design Team, providing the direction necessary to delivery top quality drawings, studies, specifications etc.

In addition to being at the top of your respective profession, as an Associate you are invested in the success of the firm. You are active in enhancing our business both externally(client – facing)and internally(talent and office)and do it all with a shared vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading project teams and other consultants to uncover integrated, innovative, and interdisciplinary solutions to design problems
• Problem-solving project design issues and applying inventive solutions.
• Establishing and maintaining trust between the project team, client and other project stakeholders
• Generating conceptual designs using a variety of graphic techniques, and work with Project Manager to prepare preliminary cost estimates
• Delivering and winning design presentation opportunities for new medium sized projects on a regular basis
• Monitoring and maintaining a high level of design quality within the project team.
• Preparing and guiding the work of Design Team on written specifications, working drawings, and construction documents, including verification that designs meet applicable building codes where necessary
• Consulting with clients to establish design concepts and parameters, including how space will function, budget considerations, and aesthetic preferences

Successful Candidate

In this role, M Moser Associates is looking for a talented Designer who can take the lead on projects, from the very first client interviews, through to project close out, including overseeing and contributing to working drawings. In order to be successful in this, you must have extensive experience with the entire project lifecycle, including leading the design vision, managing clients, and overseeing a team. Ideally, the successful candidate will be have an architecture license and be able to stamp drawings in Vancouver, British Columbia.

We are looking for Associate level Senior Designers who are contributing to winning medium to large-scale workplace projects on a consistent basis, have demonstrated their ability to run multiple projects at once and who are active in mentoring and coaching other designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design or other related field
• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, MS Office and InDesign
• 12+ years of experience in workplace interior design or architecture
• Ability to maintain design integrity from design concept to on-site construction
• Effectively contribute to multiple projects at the same time
• Knowledge of local codes and permitting
• A portfolio of signature conceptual design work, including several workplace transformation
• Architecture License preferred
• Interest and experience in mentoring younger designers and promoting a positive attitude
• Exemplary people skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have experience and confidence in delivering design pitches to corporate clients
• Extensive workplace specific design experience is an essential requirement in this role
