Reporting to the Vice-President, Technology Digital Transformation, we are currently looking for a Senior Advisor, Cyber Security that will be responsible for the security operations program supporting daily operations and developing delivery strategies and plans for the Managed Security Services function. The preferred candidate will ensure that Fednav’s business information operates in the highest security standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and mitigating cyber risks, detecting and responding to security incidents, and contributing to the development and enhancement of our security architecture. This role requires strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for cybersecurity.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include
- Advise in the definition the security solutions and identify gaps between the “as is” and “to be” states and plan for agile execution
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing thorough post-event analyses.
- Provide technical guidance on a wide array of cybersecurity topics
- Ensure stakeholders are always working toward the vision
- Understand the interdependencies with other projects and other departments, anticipate their impact and take advantage of related opportunities
- Participate in risk governance processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's security posture.
- Accelerate integration of big data insights and machine learning into security operations to reduce risks and increase security posture
- Prioritize and coordinate tasks to deliver the most added value while considering any constraints or interdependencies with other projects or sectors
- Act as an Expert Advisor to propose and participate in implementing lasting and sustainable remediation plans related to compliance challenges
- Support in defining the cyber security and cyber resiliency roadmap
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments to identify potential threats and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Act as a Product Owner on strategic projects
- Collaborate with different teams to ensure secure design, development, and deployment of IT infrastructure and applications.
- Align budgets and resources with a tactical plan
- Define and report metrics to key internal stakeholders
WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON
The ideal candidate has:
- In-depth knowledge of security concepts such as cyberattacks and techniques, threat vectors, risk management, incident management, etc.
- Proficient in preparation of reports, dashboards, and documentation
- Knowledge of applications, databases, and middleware to address security threats
- Bilingualism, French and English*
- Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in MSSP environment
- Experience in performing vendor management
- Proven experience and proficiency in Incident Management and Response
- Ability to handle high pressure situations with key stakeholders
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in security device management and multiple SIEM platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related Engineering field
