Position function: Reporting to the Principal Development Manager and Technical Services Director for Canada Inc., the individual will be accountable for managing, organizing and processing sample requests.

Scope: The position will be responsible for supervising the distribution of all sample requests for the various business teams in both Canada and the US. The individual will organize and manage an inventory of samples required to fill requests in a timely manner, as well as, request samples from Production (liquid or dry blends) or suppliers that are non-stock items. The individual will work closely with Sales representatives across all regions and our large supplier network. The role will also include the supervisory responsibility for the associated sample room personnel.

MAJOR TASKS AND DUTIES:

• Maintain, organized, clutter free and neat work area
• Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers by ensuring their request processes are followed
• Prepare monthly sample metrics report for distribution to key stakeholders
• Responsible for organizing sample requests, processing the required paperwork and preparing samples for delivery to customers within requested timelines
• Determine and process stock orders based on frequency of individual sample requests
• Courier samples as required, including to USA
• Develop and maintain the sample inventory
• Follow up on outstanding requests including updates to the individual who placed the request
• Track turnaround time for samples with a goal of improving the average response time
• Complete all other duties as assigned
• Provide technical documentation with samples as required
• Contact suppliers to request non-stock samples for delivery to Mississauga and Chicago sample rooms

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Supervisory experience preferred
• Must have strong oral/written communication and good interpersonal skills
• Must have strong organization skills and attention to detail
• College level diploma or university degree
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must have strong computer knowledge and skills (MS Office)
