As a Sales Tax Consultant for Leyton, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and assistance to our clients in managing sales tax compliance and optimizing their tax strategies.
Your primary focus will be on analyzing sales tax regulations, identifying potential areas of risk or opportunity, and developing effective solutions to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

As a Sales Tax Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing valuable insights and practical solutions that drive financial success for our clients.
At Leyton, your missions will be the following:
- Sales Tax Analysis: Conduct comprehensive reviews of client's sales tax processes, transactions, and records to identify potential compliance risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Compliance Management: Assist clients in meeting their sales tax reporting and remittance obligations by preparing accurate and timely tax returns, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and regulations.
- Advisory Services: Provide professional advice and guidance to clients on sales tax matters, including interpretation of tax laws, regulations, and rulings, as well as recommending tax planning strategies to optimize their tax positions.
- Audits and Disputes: Support clients during sales tax audits by conducting thorough research, gathering supporting documentation, and representing clients in discussions with tax authorities. Assist in resolving disputes and negotiating favorable outcomes.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs, and delivering exceptional customer service. Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for clients' sales tax concerns.
Requirements:
- Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks on time.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sales tax role, preferably within the consulting industry.
- Experience in conducting sales tax research, analysis, and developing effective tax strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex tax laws and apply them to real-world scenarios.
- Focused and well-organized, self-starter, autonomous, dynamic
- Motivated with the ability to work on your own and be a contributing member of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and strategic mind
- Solid knowledge of Canadian sales tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements (GST/HST/PST).
