To meet the challenges in selling the energy solutions for the future, we are looking for a highly motivated, customer-oriented Sales Manager with a desire to work in a dynamic and international environment. In this role you will take an active part in the sales processes with a special focus on government contracts and commercial segments focused on decarbonization and technology and be a member of a highly professional sales team. You will make important contributions to the North American markets with our sustainable solutions for energy and control. You will play an important role in contributing to greener shipping by developing our sales activities in hard to abate sectors of shipping and promote technologically advanced solutions to tackle the energy transition challenges.


Our Global Sales and Marketing Division is a global function within Kongsberg Maritime, responsible for presenting the company’s total scope of products and solutions towards customers and market place. The division has over the years built up a renowned customer-focused organization, determined to continuously provide the most innovative and reliable marine systems that ensure optimal operations at sea.


Key Accountabilities


  • Build strong internal network quickly and effectively
  • Responsible for the technical scope, cost estimation and risk assessment of a tender
  • Identify business opportunities and expand client base across all segments
  • Preparation of quotations and manage contract negotiations
  • Participate in industry conferences and events
  • Technical and strategic support to other sales managers in the region
  • Analyse sales data, track market trends and identify areas of focus
  • Implement sales strategy in the region
  • Build and maintain strong customer relations with key customers across Canada
  • Collaborate internally to facilitate cross sales within KM and other business areas, as applicable
  • Coordinate customer activities with sales resources within KONGSBERG
  • Present the technical solution to owners, yards, and designers in the region


Qualifications And Experience


  • Good understanding overview of products for the marine industry including propulsion, steering, control systems, navigation and automation
  • Strong understanding of the maritime industry, including market dynamics, trends and key stakeholders
  • Result-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the maritime industry or related field
  • Track record of involvement in government contract with the Canadian Navy and Coast Guard
  • Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering or business or similar (equivalent industry experience will be considered)
  • Existing client network in government and commercial maritime and preferred but not essential
