We seek a Restaurant General Manager for a national casual/family restaurant chain located in Drayton Valley. Our client is a leader in casual dining and offers an amazing work environment coupled with the opportunity for unmatched growth. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and management skills, a strong passion for customer service, and a solid understanding of the food and beverage industry. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the restaurant, maintaining high standards of food quality and service, managing the restaurant staff, and maximizing profitability.
DESCRIPTION
- Financial management: Manage the restaurant's financial performance by monitoring costs, analyzing variances, and implementing strategies to maximize revenue and minimize expenses. Prepare budgets, forecast sales, and set pricing strategies.
- Menu development: Collaborate with the chef to create and update menus, ensuring a variety of appealing and high-quality food and beverage options.
- Inventory control: Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste. Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee daily operations: Manage all aspects of the restaurant's operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities, to ensure smooth functioning and exceptional customer service.
- Customer service: Ensure that guests receive prompt, friendly, and efficient service. Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Staff management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of restaurant staff, including servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen personnel. Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and address any issues that may arise.
- Marketing and promotions: Work with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers. Participate in community events and engage with local organizations to promote the restaurant.
- Performance analysis and improvement: Analyze sales and performance data to identify areas for improvement. Implement strategies to enhance the restaurant's efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Health and safety compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the restaurant.
- Food quality and safety: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. Monitor food preparation and handling to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
- You are experienced with financials and are very proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- You have the full spectrum of product knowledge and business savvy required to operate a restaurant
- You pride yourself on your ability to ‘build a team’, build store morale and create a positive employee experience
- You have experience as a General Manager in a fast-paced food service environment
- You use your solution-focused approach in every situation and you never stop looking for ways to ‘make things better’
- You are a pro in effectively delivering and communicating messages to your team – whether positive or constructive
- You might have future aspirations to be employed as Operations Management or in our Corporate team
- You are always seeking to reach a higher level of ‘personal best’ at all times
- You smoothly sail through stressful moments are able to create a positive atmosphere for your team and guests at all times
- 3 - 5 years restaurant experience in a management role. Previous BOH experience is an asset.
