Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Regional Sales Director is responsible for establishing strategic account development in a specific region and driving profitable growth through increasing customer acquisition, development, and retention. The role will offer compelling value propositions relevant to customers’ needs to increase profitable revenue while identifying opportunities to strengthen Signode’s market position. Responsible for managing approximately $100M of revenue and a team of 10-15 people. The Regional Sales Director will partner directly with Operations, Product Management and Supply Chain leaders to achieve customer driven deliverables while meeting revenue and margin objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of industries and segments, including business/customers’ needs, while considering the competition and industry dynamics, to develop and implement new enhanced services and solutions.
  • Ensure continuous optimization and process improvement with existing business; develop appropriate strategies and tactics to penetrate and grow the business.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Management to produce and optimize sales materials and lead generation activities to drive customer acquisition and expand business.
  • Recruit, hire and train staff members; foster a successful and positive team environment.
  • Accountable for regional revenue and margin, budget creation and innovation projects while monitoring and tracking product quality, forecasting and creating/executing plans for applicable segments.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and present results to internal and external stakeholders of successes and areas of improvements.
  • Lead and develop a team of outside and inside sales, distribution, and industry segment specialists.
  • Lead and develop product support or solution planning over entire lifecycle, including pricing strategies, end to end service delivery and sales readiness and provide service requirements into product development stages and phases to drive business improvement.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for both strategic alliances and/or acquisitions to accelerate market penetration; recommend innovation opportunities that could come from internal development or identification of strategic acquisition targets.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork; emphasize the importance of internal collaboration to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • MBA Degree preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.

Experience / Abilities:

  • Goal oriented, organized team player
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Fosters an environment of teamwork; emphasizes the importance of internal collaboration to meet and exceed customers’ expectations
  • Seeks out new challenges, proactive and takes initiative
  • 50-70% Travel required
  • Strong experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development and business planning
  • Develops self and others and actively supports learning and growth
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills combined with executive presence; able to build relationships at high levels within targeted organizations
  • Excellent grasp of brand building and articulation of value propositions
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability to analyze data and sales statistics to forecast and translate results into better solutions
  • 8+ years of Sales or related experience
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills

Computer skills:

  • Ability to deliver presentations
  • Proficiency in MS Suite products
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems or Sales Management Software
