Summary


The Region Manager is responsible and accountable for leadership, direction and management driving profitable and sustainable sales growth of the company’s products and services in a defined division within the Simplot Grower Solutions organization. Manages a team of Market Managers, and works closely with Region Operations Manager. This role will help SGS achieve its goal of being the industry leading solutions provider by optimizing the use of both human and capital resources.


The work location for this position will be Southern Alberta and Western/Central Saskatchewan.


Key Responsibilities


  • Consult on process of ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements with Region Operations Manager.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and team development to Market Managers and Account Managers. Identify skill gaps and provide appropriate training, feedback, and resources as needed.
  • Manage key relationships in the division such as with supplier representatives, community members, and customers.
  • Develops and executes a local pricing strategy utilizing resources from the business unit and product management focusing on margin.
  • Responsible for recruiting profitable and revenue generating sales talent in coordination with centers of excellence.
  • Responsible for the division P&L, driving profitable sales growth of the company’s products and services and actively managing investments (working capital, AR, inventory, capex, SG&A). Develops and leads strategy for division in all areas.


Typical Education


  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting or related field (Equivalent experience of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements of the role).


Relevant Experience


  • Able to effectively function as a change agent.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Financial acumen.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement successful financial goals, marketing, and business.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to lead, communicate and motivate teams.
  • Minimum 10 years’ agriculture experience, preferably in field sales, and/or area sales management with a proven sales history and record of profitability.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to become familiar with industry related software.
