Job Description


Job Summary:


The Records and Information Management Specialist will function as an information management and protection subject matter expert as it relates to the creation, maintenance, security, retention, and disposal of records. This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing and maintaining information management solutions that meet the needs of the organization, as well as supporting the development and implementation of information policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, security and accessibility of organizational information.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate the adoption of new technologies and solutions, and provide training to users as necessary.
  • Design and implement information policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, security and accessibility of enterprise information.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Analyze information flows and requirements to design and implement effective information management solutions, as they relate to the management of company records.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements to information management processes and technologies.
  • Collaborate with service providers, business champions, internal and external business analysts, project managers and IT teams to ensure that records and information management solutions are implemented and integrated with existing systems as necessary.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and trends in records and information management.


Job Qualifications:


  • Strong understanding of information management principles and best practices.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of information governance and security an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in records management, information management, governance or related field.
  • Experience working in a single- and multi-tenant SaaS and PaaS environment.
  • Practical experience in digital archiving solutions, as well as records management.
  • Experience and knowledge of enterprise content management strategies, methodologies, and tools, such as OpenText xECM Content Server and SharePoint Online.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science, or related field.
